Repeat Prescriptions

multicolour_pillsYou may need to take medicines regularly for your health. When your health is stable the doctor may advise that you can have a prescription without seeing the doctor, every month by ‘repeat prescription’. Only medicines agreed by the doctor can be given a repeat prescription.

Ordering Your Prescription

Remember to order your prescription when you still have a weeks supply at home. Please do not ask the doctor for a repeat prescription in surgery or on home visits as this causes delays.

symbol error 3Please allow TWO full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.

Order your repeat prescriptions in the following ways:

  • By post - complete the tear-off section of your previous months prescription (or a repeat prescription slip) and put it in the red box by reception.
  • By letter - please enclose a stamped address envelope if you wish this to be posted back.
  • Online - via the link at the top of this page. New users are required to collect their log-in password from reception by showing a form of identification.

Please Note: We do not accept requests over the telephone.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
